Groove Note Records was founded in 2020 in Los Angeles by Douyé — jazz vocalist, educator, and believer in the lasting power of a well-made record. The label was born from a single, simple idea: make jazz records you would actually want to keep forever. Records that sound like a room full of people listening as carefully as they're playing.

We work with a tight-knit roster of artists. We track to tape when the music calls for it. We sit with mixes for as long as they need. We press vinyl that holds up to the way our artists play.

Every release is signed to a fair, transparent contract. Masters revert to the artist. We split everything the way grown-ups would.
